MANSFIELD: Beverly Joan Myers, age 70, of Largo, FL, and formerly of Vanderbilt Road, Mansfield, died Friday morning March 9, 2001 in her daughter’s rural Lucas home following a short illness.
She was born March 7, 1931 in Ashland to Gilbert H. and Elizabeth “Betty” Alexander Brown and was graduated from Ashland High School in 1949.
Beverly retired as Treasurer from Northmor Local School District in 1995, and was a member of the Ohio Association of School Business Officials.
She was a charter member and past president of Mansfield Junior Women’s League, and a member of Ruth Chapter #17 Order of Eastern Star, American Legion Post # 535 Auxiliary, AMVETS Post #43 Auxiliary, the AARP, a member of the Board of Directors of North Central Ohio Computer Cooperative, and secretary to the Board of Directors of Bel-Aire Mobile Home Park in Largo, FL.
An avid dancer, Beverly also volunteered at Kingwood Center in Mansfield.
She attended Lincoln Heights Church of Christ in Christian Union.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend she is survived by her daughter Pamela Grimes of Lucas; a son and daughter-in-law James & Lorrie Myers of Lucas; a son Kevin Myers of Tucson, AZ; 8 grandchildren Traci, Brittany and John Grimes, James, Joshua and Michelle Myers and Amanda and Stephen Myers; a great granddaughter Kylee Myers; a sister Barbara Cooner of Largo, FL; a brother and sister-in-law Dennis & Diane Brown of Ashland; and dear friends John & Rachel Stephens of Ashland and Patricia Conway of Largo, FL.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John M. Myers on June 15, 1997; and a son Stephen John Myers on May 31, 1995.
Friends may call Monday March 12, 2001 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 am. The Rev. Bruce Morrison, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Monroe Township EMS may be made at the funeral home.
