BELLVILLE: Beverly J. Young, age 81, of Bellville passed away Tuesday morning, January 14, 2020 in her home surrounded by her doting family, following a short illness.

She was born July 6, 1938 in Perrysville to Wallace H. Black and Mary Ellen (Dow) Black Bowman.

Beverly dedicated her time and talents raising her family of six children, three boys and three girls in all.

She was a life member of AMVETS #43 in Bellville where she was instrumental in the kitchen. Known to most as the “Trail Boss” Beverly kept everything together for events like the fair and fundraisers.  She was also a member of American Legion Post #535 in Bellville.

Rational, honest and never afraid to speak her mind Beverly was looked to as a problem solver by her friends and family members.  She will be recalled by many saying, “Don’t ask the question if you don’t want an honest answer.”

Surviving are her three children Edward (Kathe) Hurrell, Diantha Oliver (Mike Brate), Vicki Keen (Dick Carns); grandchildren Justin, Brittney, Melissa, Brandon, Dana, Eddie, Jr., Ashley, Aaron, and Jarrod; great grandchildren Heaven, Tayla, Emalee, Evan, Ayden, Landon, Jaiden, Rylei, Amellia, Lydea, Charlotte, Alexandria, Madison and Matthew, and a great granddog Theia.  Beverly will also be missed by dear friend Ann Marksbury, her friend/beautician Lola Graham and many nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob” Young in 2015, and children Connie Hurrell, Richard “Rick” Schulties, and Rodney “Sam” Schulties.

Friends may call Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 11 am to 1 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home.  A graveside service for Beverly will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
