Beverly E. Wood

August 13, 1928 ‒ March 30, 2008

Westerville and formerly Mansfield, Mount Gilead, Ohio

Beverly E. Wood, age 79, of Westerville and formerly of Mansfield and Mount Gilead, died on Sunday, March 30, 2008, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville following a brief illness.

She was born in Mount Gilead, Ohio, on August 13, 1928, the daughter of the late LeRoy and Anna (Seitz) Tuttle.

After growing up in the Ohio Deaf Community with a young man, Cecil J. Wood, they grew to share an inseparable bond. On April 12, 1947, she and Cecil were married and together they lovingly raised two daughters. As a family, they have always been there for each other. After 59 wonderful years of marriage, Cecil preceded her in death on August 2, 2006.

Though most of Beverly’s time was spent as a loving homemaker, she worked for nine years at Bogner’s Dry Cleaners in Mansfield as a press operator.

With a great sense of humor, Beverly always knew how to get a laugh out of her friends and family. Always thoughtful, she had a knack for creating holiday surprises that her daughters will forever cherish.

She will be dearly missed by her two daughters: Barbara Jean Kazmierski of Linden, California, and Brenda Kay Joseph Bellomy of Mansfield; two grandsons: Dominic R. Adams of Sacramento, California, and Joshua A. Joseph and his wife Mary Nance of Newberry, South Carolina; two sisters: Marilyn (William) Beard of Litchfield Park, Arizona, and Vivian Benson of Little Rock, Arkansas; and her brother-in-law, Lowell Wood of Lexington.

Including her parents and husband, Beverly was preceded in death by her brother, Max Tuttle and sister, Margery Wolfrey.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bryn Zion Cemetery, 5520 County Road 240 (off St. Rt. 42 N.), Mount Gilead, with Pastor David Mason officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Gilead.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Mount Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43215, Columbus Colony Housing, 1165 Colony Dr., Westerville, Ohio 43081, or the Liberty Baptist Church for the Deaf, 1552 Elmore Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43224.
