Beverly “Bee” J. Leeper

Beverly “Bee” J. Leeper, age 71, of Marion, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, April 25, 2009, at her home following an extended battle with several illnesses.
On August 18, 1937, Bee was born in Marion, Ohio, the daughter of the late Cecil and Phoebe (Partlow) Newell. She graduated from Pleasant High School in the Class of 1955.
On June 7, 1958, she married Harry E. Leeper at the home of Rev. Falor of the Oakland United Methodist Church. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
After being raised in a family of six children, Bee was blessed to have six children, and she took great pride in being the best homemaker she could be. Bee loved to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren, and she enjoyed family get-togethers, camping, and babysitting.
Bee was a member of the Pleasant Senior Citizens, where she enjoyed playing cards with her many friends. She also enjoyed meeting regularly with “The Club,” her fellow classmates from the Class of 55’. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Bee will be dearly missed by her husband, Harry, of Marion; six children: Pamela (Don) Ensign of Richwood, and their son, Sam Ensign, Kathy (Doug) Beck, of Holgate, and their children: Jason and Brittni Beck, Teri (Steve) Rush of St. Joseph, Michigan, and their children: Jessica, Jon, and Jeremy Rush, Jodi (Dave) Hilliard of Hillsboro, and their daughters: Hannah and Holly Hilliard, Polly Leeper Stidham, of Green Valley, Arizona, and Todd (Laura) Edwards-Leeper, of Arlington, Massachusetts; two sisters: Barbara Thompson of Prospect, and Judy (Ralph) Schofield of Waldo; three brothers: Ed (Linda) Newell, Jerry (Mary) Newell, and Don (Martha) Newell, all of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion. Services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4535 Smeltzer Rd., Marion, with Pastor Carol Ramseth officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery.
