Betty R. Davis

Betty R. Davis, 77, of Galion went to be with her Lord from her injuries received in an automobile accident on Monday, August 11, 2014.
The oldest of ten, she was born September 4, 1936 in Marion and was the daughter of Charles and Betty Mae (Knight) Cockrell.
On May 22, 1955, Betty married her high school sweetheart, Paul L. Davis. He recently preceded her in death on August 4, 2014.
Betty was a 1955 graduate of Fredericktown High School and worked for Perfection-Cobey and ITT North Electric in Galion. She retired several years ago as a secretary at Tri-Rivers Adult Education. Betty was a devoted wife, mom and grandma. She collected angels and was an avid Ohio State fan. Betty was an active member of the Galion First Church of the Nazarene where she served as caravan director, choir director, Sunday school board and teacher.
She is survived by her daughter Gail Mills of Galion; four grandchildren, Stephanie Davis of Galion, Shelli (Ladell) Kidd of Mansfield, Crystal Mills of Galion and David (Nichoel) Mills of Galion; 10 great-grandchildren, Amber, Abbigail, Trinity, Gabriel, Dustin, Sabrina, Brandon, Kimberly, T.J. and Dylan; brothers Dave (Ruby) Cockrell of Fredericktown, Charles (Carol) Cockrell Fredericktown, Daniel (Connie) Cockrell of Fredericktown, Paul (Bobbi) Cockrell of Lakeland, Florida; sisters, Sandy (Whitey) Carr of Butler, Sue Antrican of Butler; Peg (Lane) Graves of MacArthur and Theresa Cockrell of Fredericktown.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents and recently by her husband, Paul and son Glenn Davis II and brothers, Johnny and Robert Cockrell.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Galion First Church of the Nazarene, 777 Fairview Ave., Galion, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 15, with Dr. Rick McCartney officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Galion First Church of the Nazarene in care of the funeral home.
