Betty L. Wood, age 86 of Columbus, died Monday morning at Arbors at Delaware.

Born on July 26, 1924 in Sunbury to the late Ralph and Elva Acker Ramsey.

A homemaker and a mother she worked side by side with her husband.

Betty enjoyed golf, especially Tiger Woods, The Ohio State Buckeyes, cooking, baking and garage sales. Remembered for her fried chicken, German chocolate cake, jams, jellies and pineapple cookies. Working with her husband on the farm plowing, disking and mowing hay and when he started his own excavating company driving a dump truck and digging ditches.

Survived by sons: Dale (Georgina) Wood of Westerville, Wayne (Jane) Wood of Sunbury; daughter: Sharon (Mike) Stevens of Radnor; grandchildren: Dwight (Susan) Wood, Dwayne (Amy) Wood, Andy Wood, Scott (Eulann) Wood, and Chad (Rose) Moore; 4 Step-grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; brothers: Carrol Ramsey of Delaware, James Ramsey of Sunbury; sisters: Kathryn Moffit of Quincy, Oh., Bonna Styer, Deland, Fl., Rachael Mae Raursen, Arkansas.

Preceded in death by husband: Gerald E. Wood on February 2, 1996; great grandson: Noa; brothers: Max and William Ramsey; sister: Donna Belle Styer; son-in-law: Charles T. Moore.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday 7 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury with Chaplain Bruce Benzing officiating and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Inurnment at a later date in the Sunbury Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to: Odyssey Hospice, 540 Office Center Place, Columbus, Ohio 43230-5317.
