Betty L. Stidam

Betty L. Stidam, age 67, of Delaware, died Wednesday afternoon, April 28, 2004 at Grady Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Cherokee, Kentucky on September 25, 1936 to the late Herman and Wilma (Wellman) Ward. Until retirement, she worked as a housekeeping supervisor for the Ohio Wesleyan University. She was a member of the Redmen Club, FOE Aerie #376, VFW Post #3297, and Amvets Post #104. Before moving to Delaware in 1969, Betty also resided in Marysville. As a child, she sang gospel music and later developed a love for country music. She enjoyed bird watching and collecting owls.
She is survived by her Sons; Rick (Cindy) Stidam of Delaware, and Tony (Janice) Stidam of Ostrander, Daughters; Tammy (Tony) McWherter and Beth Ann Stidam, both of Delaware, Grandsons; Storm, Joshua, Ricky (Angie), Benjamin, Brody, Tyrease, Richie, William and Joshua, Granddaughters; Ashley, Chantay and Easha, Great-Granddaughter; Breanna, Brothers; Jim Ward of Port Clinton, Donald Ward of TX, Ronald (Debra) Ward of Delaware, Freddy Ward of GA, and Jackie Ward of PA, Sisters; Della (Roy) Hedrick of GA, Anna (Ross) Whitney of Marysville, Lily (Dale) Heironimus of Springfield, Linda Ward of Cincinnati, and Velma (Scott) Cyrus of Pickerington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Jack” Stidam Jr. in 1986, and a brother, Paul Ward.
Friends may call Friday from 7 – 9 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36), Delaware, where visiting hours will also be held Saturday from 10 – 12, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Maple Dell Cemetery in Magnetic Springs.
