Betty L. English, 92, of Galion passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at Signature HealthCARE in Galion.

She was born December 9, 1925 in Galion and was the daughter of Walter and Mae (Scribner) Price. She married Dean R. English on January 2, 1943 and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage until his passing on April 15, 2008.

She attended Galion High School. Betty worked at the PX store when Dean was in the United States Army. She, along with Dean, owned and operated Deano’s in Galion. They both renovated houses in Galion to either sell or rent. Betty was an avid bowler and they traveled with their friends to many bowling tournaments. Dean and Betty were members of several local social clubs in Galion. Betty took pride in having a well-kept home and was a great cook.

Betty is survived by daughters Candace (Jeff) Hollins Brokaw of Mansfield and Jill (Gary) Miller of Crestline; grandchildren Keri (Steve) Roth of Akron, Deana (Kevin) Koge of Galion, Angie Shaffer of Wooster and Trent (Missy) Miller of Galion; seven great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by an infant son Tom English; grandson Michael Dean Hollins; son-in-law Keith Hollins; brother Mike Price and two sisters Bonnie Sipes and Reva Keller.

Following her wishes, there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Make a Wish Foundation in care of the funeral home.
