Betty J. Burky, 85, of Galion passed away Friday evening, October 20, 2017 at Galion Hospital after a short illness.

She was born January 6, 1932 in Tiro and was the daughter of Clarence L. and Edna I. (McCarthy) Love. Betty is survived by her husband of 67 years, Glenn P. Burky whom she married on July 2, 1950 in the Tiro Lutheran Church.

She was a 1950 graduate of Tiro High School and homemaker. Betty was a member of First Lutheran Church in Galion.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by children Brenda James and James P. Burky both of Galion; granddaughter Kelli (Leslie) Robbins of Lexington; great-grandson David (Shelbie) Robbins of Lexington and sisters-in-law Charlotte Love of Shelby, Nancy Love of Gahanna, Naomi (Wendell) Amstutz of Shelby, Eva (Dan) Reiff of Marion and Sharon (Darrell) Carman of rural Sulphur Springs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Leroy and Leslie Love.

Following her wishes, there will be a private graveside service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or First Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
