BUTLER-Betty B. Moser, 91, of Butler and formerly of Wren, Ohio passed away Monday afternoon February 8, 2010 in Colonial Manor Health Care Center in Loudonville.
Betty was born November 9, 1918 in Hardin County to Francis and Flo (Wingate) Dilts and was graduated from Ada High School in 1936. Following high school Betty graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1938 earning her teaching certificate.
For over 35 years Betty taught in the Convoy Crestview School system. Betty’s desire to impact the lives of her students made an everlasting impression. At the age of 91 she was still in contact with her beloved students. Betty retired from teaching in 1981.
Following her retirement Betty moved to Bellville. She was a member of Three Crosses A United Methodist Fellowship in Butler and was also a member of the Bellville Fun and Friendship Club.
While residing in Bellville, Betty volunteered with the Clear Fork School system again giving her time to students.
In her spare time Betty enjoyed reading. She was also an avid Cleveland Indians fan often watching the games on television.
She will be remembered for the love she expressed for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Giving her undivided attention she was always willing to teach her grandkids life lessons.
Betty is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Jayne Moser and Jim Miller of Butler, Anne and Bill Downs of Mansfield, and Jill and Dick Bowen of Ohio City; five grandchildren Matthew and Kate Miller, Jennifer Van Arsdalen, Andrew Downs and Michael Bowen; nine great grandchildren; sister Madge Van Scoit of Upper Sandusky, and brother and sister-in-law Robert and Marny Dilts of Delaware, along with numerous extended family.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson Ric Bowen, sister Mae Dilts and brother Charles Dilts.
The family will receive friends on Friday February 12, 2010 from 4-6pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. A memorial service celebrating the life of Betty B. Moser will begin at 11am Saturday, February 13, 2010 in Three Crosses A United Methodist Fellowship, 12 Cleveland Street, Butler, Ohio 44822. Pastor Keith McLaughlin will officiate.
A celebration of life service will also be held this summer in Wren, Ohio.
Memorial contributions to Three Crosses A United Methodist Fellowship may be made at the funeral home.
