Betty B. (Bending) Hartman

August 12, 1923 ‒ March 25, 2017

Morrow County, Ohio

Betty B. (Bending) Hartman, age 93, of Morrow Co., passed away at her home, Saturday evening, March 25, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

On August 12, 1923, Betty was born in Mount Gilead, OH, the only child of the late Ray William and Beulah Marie (Foreman) Bending.

On September 11, 1939, Betty married Gerald Charles Hartman in Covington, KY.  They shared over 49 years as husband and wife before he preceded her in death on February 18, 1987.

For many years Betty was employed at the T&A Saveway in Mansfield in the deli department and then as a cook at the Depot, Senior Civic Center in Lexington.

Betty enjoyed taking care of and riding horses, and treasured her little dog, Beulah.  She always looked forward to family gatherings and cooking for those she loved.

Betty will be remembered as a quiet and sometimes stubborn woman. She was also a feisty character at times and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Betty will be dearly missed by her five children: Ellen (John) Crawford of Johnsville, Linda (Wilford) Morrison of Lexington, Susan Swisher of Bear Creek, NC, Jerry (Kay) Hartman of Mansfield, Ronald Hartman of Mansfield; 13 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and close friends, Rex and Helen Hester of Bear Creek, NC.

A private family burial will be held at a later date in Shauck Cemetery.
