HERMITAGE, TENNESSEE: Betsy Gruneisen O’Brian, 50, of Hermitage, Tennessee, died Tuesday, November 30, 2004 in her home following a sudden illness.

She was born September 7, 1954 in Mansfield, and was graduated from Lexington High School in 1973, where she marched with the Lexington Band of Gold for three years.

Betsy loved and was active in all sports. In 1973, she joined the Youth for Christ Men In Motion bicycle tour, cycling 700 miles to Detroit, through New York, and back.

She was a former member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church.

Betsy had worked with Bell South for the past 25 years.

The greatest mother her children have ever hoped for, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Sgt. Matthew R. and Cassie O’Brian of Camp Pendleton, California, son Chris O’Brian of Nashville, Tennessee, and son Michael Dukes of Hermitage, Tennessee.

Also surviving are her mother Dorothy (Henry) Gruneisen of Lexington; two sisters and brothers-in-law Jane E. and David Hoffman of Houston, Texas and Roberta J. and Ted Lux of Brecksville; her brother and sister-in-law James J. and Susan Gruneisen of Columbus; and nephews Scott Hoffman, Steven Hoffman and Jim Lux.

Her father Robert B. Gruneisen preceded her in death December 8, 2003.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 6, 2004 from Noon until 2 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will follow at 2 pm. The Rev. Dr. David Hartzfeld will officiate. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
