Bessie Mae Wojtseck, age 94, of Danville, died Sunday, May 9, 2010 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Loudonville. Bessie was born September 5, 1915 in Deel, Virginia to Lee and Oma (Van Dyke) Looney. During WW II she worked as a welder in the Naval Ship Yard at Norfolk, Virginia and was retired as a cook supervisor at the Mohician Youth Camp near Loudonville.

Bessie was a member of the Owl Creek Harmony Primitive Baptist Church at Waterford and the Mother of Twins Club in Mount Vernon.

Surviving are her husband Harry Wojtseck whom she married June 8, 1946; her sons Harry Michael (Betty) Wojtseck of Mount Vernon and Terry Lee Wojtseck of Danville; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and sisters Elsie Divers of Lorain and Jean Viers of Danville. Besides her parents, Bessie was preceded in death by her son Timothy Wojtseck, brothers Tom Looney, Clifton Looney, Ernest Looney, and Bill Looney; and sisters Katherine Quesenberry, Edna Stacy, and Fay Prince.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010 with Elders Jack Griffith and Darven Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
