Bessie M. Blackman Foulkes

MANSFIELD~ Bessie M. Blackman Foulkes, formerly of Blymyer Avenue, Mansfield, passed away Friday morning February 27, 2009 in the emergency room of MedCentral Shelby Hospital. She was 106.
Born January 11, 1903 in Toledo to Charles N. and Helen (Seifert) Blackman, she had lived in the Mansfield area all of her life.
For more than 50 years she worked as a real estate broker with her father’s agency, the former Blackman Realty, retiring in 1968. A Mansfield business woman for decades, she was passionate about real estate and had served as an officer of the Mansfield Board of Realtors.
An avid photographer, Mrs. Foulkes was past president and past secretary of the Richland Camera Club.
She was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Bessie loved to be outdoors in her flower gardens and loved animals.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Lani Lace of Galloway and James Rubino and Mari Levitt of Aventura, Florida; grandchildren including Carin and Brad Frederici of Mansfield and Stephen Rubino and Sheila Wilder of Atlanta, GA; great grandchildren including Jared Frederici and Tim Frederici.
Mrs. Foulkes was preceded in death by her husband John Paul Foulkes; two grandsons; and her sister Mable Speck.
The Foulkes Family will receive friends Monday, March 2, 2009 from 11 a.m. to noon in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, 350 Marion Avenue (Former Finefrock Funeral), where the funeral service will immediately follow at noon. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
