Bernice McMahon, age 86 of Mount Vernon died Saturday June 28, 2003 at her residence. She was born June 24, 1917 in Jefferson Township, Knox County to William Isaac Dial and Anna Mae Frances (Lepley) Dial and had spent her lifetime in Knox county.
Surviving are her daughter Sharon (Steven) Cockerham of Jackson; 3 sons David (Louann) McMahon of Gambier, George (Debra) McMahon of Washburn, Ill. and Ralph Patrick McMahon of Pittsburgh; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edward Oscar Mc Mahon, a son, Michael Edward Mc Mahon, step father Samuel T. Dial; 3 brothers Raymond Dial, Bernard Dial and Alfred Dial; a sister Ethel M. Merstick; 4 half brothers William L. Dial, Charles F. Dial, James Dial, and Roy Dial; and 5 half sisters Mary E. Robinson, Rose Ellen Lepley, Clara Elizabeth Forshee, Hope Dial and Charity Dial.
There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 AM at Oak Grove Cemetery in Gambier with Rev. Jamie Gump officiating.
The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is in charge of arrangements.
