Bernard F. Sapp, age 77, of Pinkley Road, Fredericktown, passed away on Tuesday January 18, 2005 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. He was born on October 21, 1927 in Danville, Ohio to the late R. Joseph and Frances (Condon) Sapp. Mr. Sapp retired after 41 years of employment with American National Can. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Amvets of Mount Vernon.
He is survived by a son Rev. Michael (Esther) Sapp of Portage, Michigan, two daughters, Kathy Sapp and Karla (Loren) Frazee both of Fredericktown, three grandchildren, Kendra Sapp, Bradley Sapp, Paul Sapp, three brothers, Owen Thomas (Marlene) Sapp of New Jersey, Richard (Shirley) Sapp of Warsaw, Paul (Beth) Sapp of Danville, four sisters, Barb Daugherty of Mount Vernon, Carrie (Donald) Piar of Mount Vernon, Ruth Riley of Mount Vernon and Sarah Evans of Houston, Texas.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife who he married on June 29, 1950, Norma Jean (Brooks) Sapp, a brother, Robert Sapp and a sister, Grace Temple.
Friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral will be held Friday at 11 AM. Burial with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
