Bartt E. Vernon, age 45, of Mount Vernon passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019 at the Knox Community Hospital.

He was born on September 22, 1974 in Mount Vernon to the late Neil Vernon and Shirley (Hoey) Vernon.  Bartt was employed as the Lead in the dish room at the Alcove Restaurant.

He is survived by his wife, of over 15 years, Vicki (Mueck) Vernon; his sons, Matt (Maggie) Hart, Kyle (Kaylyn) Hart; three grandchildren, Jaxen, Connor, and Bradyn Hart; and his brother Brett (Michelle) Vernon.

In addition to his parents, Bartt was preceded in death by his sister Carmen Vernon.

Friends may call on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home from 2-3PM.  A service will follow, beginning at 3PM, with Ms. Melody Sonnenberg officiating.

  • Bartt, my friend. Vicki and family, I’m so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Bartt at the Alcove for a number of years. He was more than just a dishwasher, he took a great deal of pride in the work he did. He always had a kind word for me, always encouraged me to open my own restaurant. He really seemed to enjoy anything I was cooking. He will be missed, God bless you and the entire family. You remain in my thoughts and prayers.
