Barbara Mae Mowles, 69, of Delaware passed away early Tuesday morning April 16, 2013 at Grady Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 30, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland to Edward Lee and Mildred Mae (Parrish) Murphy.

Along with being a homemaker, she had formerly worked at Ranco Manufacturing, StarFleet, L & K, and Burger Chef. She was also a former member and employee of the Delaware Moose Lodge. She loved to read, especially Stephen King novels, do arts and crafts, garden, and flower arrange. She also loved cats and would take any stray in. She loved all birds and enjoyed watching them eat at her birdfeeders. She would even watch them out the window while she was in the nursing home.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Gregory Scott (Ann) Chapman of Columbus, Georgia; daughter, Tamara Dawn Chapman of Delaware; granddaughter, Emily Chapman; sisters, Patricia (Dave) Leasure and Monica Kay Sutherland of Radnor and Billie Diane (Larry) Westbrook of Delaware; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; feline companion, Baby Girl. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband Bill Chapman, and 2nd husband Robert Mowles.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday April 20th at 11:00 am at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street, Delaware.
