Barbara L. Pangallo, 99, of Galion, died peacefully with her daughters by her side Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011 at Mill Creek Nursing Center in Galion.

Born Oct. 29, 1911 in Stockton, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Bert Myron Lemon and Katherine Call Lemon. She was preceded in death on May 6, 2009 by her husband, Joseph J. Pangallo whom she married on May 26, 1945.

Barbara had a wonderful sense of humor and was a caregiver at heart. She was the one her family turned to for assistance, knowing she would be there if needed. Barbara always worked in the family businesses including the Sportsman Grill and Pangallo Lanes in Galion. She also worked at the former Northern Ohio Telephone Company as an operator, retiring in 1970. Barbara was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion and a member and past president of Galion Elk’s Emblem Club.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathy and Tim Breckner of Galion and Patricia Wirick and Roger Petrella of Galion; a daughter-in-law, Leslie Stringfellow of Pollock Pines, Calif.; six grandchildren, Christopher Wirick, Timothy Lynn Breckner, JoAnna Rich Lencyk, Jennifer Breckner, Tom Dee Stringfellow and Ann Joel Bieg; six great-grandchildren, Jack, Joseph and Anabelle Lencyk, Kristopher Stringfellow and Katie and Hannah Bieg; five nieces, Susan Ubri of Toledo, Sharon Simes of Fla., Valerie Swartz and Jill Baker both of Galion and Linda Cortes of Gypsum, Colo.; two nephews, Tom Faine of Calif. and Patrick Pangallo, II of Galion and her caregiver, Sherry Pagani.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Kenneth H. Stringfellow and her grandson, Kenneth H. Stringfellow, III.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion where a Vigil Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday with Deacon Greg Kirk officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion with Rev. John Miller officiating.

A graveside committal service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Galion where Barbara will be laid to rest next to her husband.
