Barbara J. Walker, age 76, of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in Mount Vernon with her loving family by her side. She was born on March 17, 1940 in Mount Vernon, OH, to the late Ralph E. and Florence (Boeshart) Brown.

She was a 1958 graduate of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic High School. Barbara was a member of the Soroptimist International of Mount Vernon & Knox County where she made many friends. She was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mount Vernon.
She enjoyed shopping, vacationing and traveling, but most of all she loved and cared for her grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Loretta (Steve) Reynolds of Mount Vernon, Jessica (Jeff) Stevens of Fredericktown, and Susan Walker of Columbus; grandchildren, Craig Reynolds, Courtney Reynolds, Stephanie (Brandon) Ruhl, Sean Stevens, Chase Stevens, Carriea Stevens, Chloe Stevens, Jacob Lanning and Dakota Webb; great-grandchildren, Rilee Smith, Madison Ruhl, Maci Ruhl, Jayden Stevens and Parker Kodydek; siblings, Marjorie Scott, Edward (Charlotte) Brown, Janet Gerrard and Carolyn Spearman; many nieces and nephews.

Besides Barbara’s parents, she is preceded in death by her Ex-husband, Bob Walker.
The family will conduct calling hours from 10:30 am until the time of service starting at 11:30 am on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Grove Church of Christ; 7740 Grove Church Rd., Gambier, OH, 43022 with Rev. Ben McKinstry officiating.
