Barbara Ferguson Packard, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Saturday, January 27, 2018. She was born in Mount Vernon on November 6, 1928 to the late Joseph and Loretto (Taugher) Ferguson.

Barbara is survived by her children, Arthur III, Marcia (Randy) Orsborn, Daniel (Gayle), John (Jacqueline) and Emily Marth.  Included in her family for many years was Rob Manning.  She was deeply loved by her grandchildren, Melissa (Josh Hartman) Packard, Kaitlyn Orsborn, Clark (Laura) Packard, Amanda (Vincent) Gaudio, Nicholas (Nikki) Orsborn, Jeanna Packard, Matthew Orsborn and Laura Packard and six great grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Packard Jr., her parents and siblings.

Barbara was a graduate of Saint Mary’s of the Springs Academy in Columbus.  She was a devoted member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, a volunteer with many organizations and clubs, most notably Knox Community Hospital Auxiliary, Saint Vincent de Paul School and was instrumental in organizing Safety Town.

The family will observe a private Funeral Mass and burial.

Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 303 East High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050 or the Arthur J. Packard Jr. Scholarship Fund through the Community Trust Foundation.
