Barbara A. Flood, age 80, of Fredericktown, died Thursday December 15, 2016 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. Barbara was born July 20, 1936 in Mount Vernon to Royal and Leona (Smith) Montgomery and had spent her lifetime in the Fredericktown area. She had been an employee of the Continental Can Company in Mount Vernon for many years. Barbara was a member of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her children Lisa (Tony) Schwartz of Fredericktown, Mike (Beth) Trainer of Apex, North Carolina, Kelly M. (Shawn) Bakies of Cypress, Texas and Mary Jean (Roger) Ash of Fredericktown; grandchildren Tashena Snow, Ciera Lomphoy, Carley Ash, Hannah Rose Teter and Savannah Trainer; great grandchildren Reaghan Snow, Xavier Lomphoy, Saylor Lomphoy, Alicia Talbot and Audrina Talbot; her brother Robert (Loretta) Montgomery of Mount Vernon and her sister Janet Montgomery of Fredericktown. Barbara was preceded in death by her longtime companion Jack Horner.

Friends may call Sunday from 1PM to 3PM at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown where funeral services will follow at 3PM. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.

All of us surrounded by all of the love that your family shared. With Barb doing all the cooking and grandpa and grandma there to share in the joy. They had and will always have a great influence on my life and I will always feel love and thankfulness that you included me as part of your family.
