Arnold D. Adams, age 80, of Mount Gilead, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday afternoon, August 7, 2015, at his residence.

On November 2, 1934, Arnold was born in Lynn, Alabama, the son of the late Avis and Gracie (Cotton) Adams.

Arnold married Eilene J. Sherman on February 18, 1967.  They shared over 38 years together before she preceded him in death on October 8, 2005.

Early in life, he was self-employed in the oil and construction industries.  Later he was a machinist at Cooper Bessemer which became Rolls-Royce in Mount Vernon.  He retired from there in 2005.

Arnold and Eilene were long time members of the Pulaskiville Community Bible Church.  There, he served as a deacon and was also on the church board.

Arnold enjoyed attending the Morrow County fair along with gospel concerts and programs.  As a family they enjoyed playing “big horse and little horse” (Euchre) and spending time together.

Arnold will be remembered for his strong work ethic, good morals, and being a loving man of the Lord.

He will be dearly missed by his son, John (Rebecca Ash) Adams of Cardington; his daughter, Sherry (Danele Hovatter) Adams of Columbus; a grandson, Josh Adams of Pataskala; five brothers and one sister.

The Adams family will greet friends from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead.  Services honoring his life will be held at 12:00 pm with Minister Martin Spearman officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the American Diabetes Association ( ).

Arnold was so faithful to attend offering a word of encouragement ,a kind word and often a tear when a song touched his heart ,deeply (when his health was good).
