Anthony “Peanut” Dinovo Sr.

Anthony A. “Peanut” Dinovo Sr., age 75 of Indian Lake formerly of Delaware died Tuesday evening, September 7, 2004 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware.
He was born on Feb. 26, 1929 in Bellefontaine to the late Salvatore A. “Sam” and Ignatia “Ceena” (Salamony) Dinovo. A graduate of St. Mary High School Class of 1947, he was also a US Army Veteran. He moved from Delaware to the Indian Lake area in 1988. Anthony was part owner/operator of the former Dinovo Bros. Inc. a fruit wholesale company in Delaware until 1984 at which time he started Dinovo & Son’s of Indian Lake. He owned and operated Cranberry Resort at Indian Lake from 1980 – 1986 and was also a Realtor for over 20 years most recently with Kronenberger Realty Inc.
He was a member of St. Mary Church, Delaware and St. Mary of the Woods, Russells Point, a Fourth Degree Knight and Past Grand Knight of Delaware Council No 8044 Knights of Columbus, Past President of St. Mary PTO, former basketball coach for St. Mary School, Trustee and Charter member of Russells Point Elks and Moose Lodges. He enjoyed singing, fishing, boating, the Internet, maintaining a family web-site, and gardening, especially raising Cucuzzi and tomatos.
Survived by his wife of 52 years Mary (Cooke), Daughters: Ceena (William) Baker of Delaware, Peggy (Richard) DeClue of Boiling Springs, SC, Mary Frances (Larry) Larsen of Denver, CO; Sons: Salvatore Dinovo of Indian Lake, Charles “Chuck” (Colleen) Dinovo of Westborough, MA, Fr. Anthony Dinovo Jr. of Columbus, Joseph (Allison) Dinovo of W. Columbia, SC, Philip (Kris) Dinovo of Sandusky, Dominic “Nick” (Carolyn) Dinovo of Columbus, 22 Grandchildren, 7 Great-grandchildren,
Brothers: Samuel of Delaware, Michael (Mary) Dinovo of Delaware; Sisters: Anne Rowlands of Delaware, Mary Warner of Delaware, Seraphine (Leonard) Wooley of Marion, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Also preceded in death by Grandson: Stephen Baker, Brothers: Gus, Joseph, Frederick; Sister: Josephine Meyers.
Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m., Vigil Services 7:30 p.m. and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus honors will be from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 82 E. William St., Delaware, Fr. Anthony Dinovo Jr. Celebrant, Fr. Kevin Kavanagh, and Fr. Harry Kist will serve as Concelebrants. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Delaware.
