Annie Marie Scott, age 82, of Mount Gilead, died Thursday morning, September 18, 2014, at the Woodside Village Care Center.

Annie was born on April 28, 1932 in Morrow County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Paul Merritt and Imo Martha (Smith) Hatten. She graduated from Ashley High School in the Class of 1950.

On September 4, 1950 Annie married Richard C. Adams. They shared over 16 years before he preceded her in death on February 19, 1967 following complications from a surgery. She found love again and married Roger E. Scott on March 9, 1968. They were married nearly 36 years before he preceded her in death on January 27, 2004.

Over the years Annie worked in many professions. She was employed by North Electric in Galion, Cosmo Plastics in Mount Gilead, and ran a taxi service in Mount Gilead. She also owned and operated the Mount Gilead Certified Gas Stations with her husband, Roger.

After retiring in the late 1970’s, Annie and Roger loved to travel all over the United States in their motorhome, until their health began to decline. She was a VIP at the Mount Gilead State Park and served as a camp host for many years. She will always be remembered as a very happy and content woman, who was easy to get along with.

Annie is survived by a son, Richard Adams Jr. of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters: Martha (Dan) Osborne of Mount Gilead, Marlene Pachl of Butler; a step-daughter, Rebecca Pacheco of Mansfield; 15 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; a brother, Daniel (Vivian) Hatten of Gambier; and a sister, Elma Black of Mount Gilead.

In addition to her two husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Adams; two brothers: Harry and David Hatten; and three sisters: Roselene Young, Mildred Adams, and Barbara Richey.

Annie’s family will greet friends from 2 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the Snyder Funeral Home, 76 S. Main St., Mount Gilead. Services honoring her life will be held there at 2:00 p.m. on Monday with Pastor Chris Plough officiating. Burial will follow in Alum Creek Friends Church Cemetery.
