Anne A. Antonick, 92, passed away February 6, 2002 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon after a brief illness. She was born in 1909 in Vita, Manitoba, Canada the daughter of Michael and Sophia Kaminski. When she was young, her family moved to a small farm near Sifton, Manitoba, and Anne lived there until she was 19.
Anne, with her twin sister Helen, immigrated to the United States in 1928 and lived for several years in Cleveland. In 1935 she married Nicholas Antonick, her childhood sweetheart. They lived in Chicago where sons Milton and Robert were born. They moved to Mount Vernon in 1944 where son Michael was born.
Anne was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked on the surgical floor of Mercy Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was an active member of the Saint Vincent de Paul parish. Her life was her family. She also loved gardening and cooking, and excelled at both.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Joseph, her twin sister Helen (Lee), her sisters Antoinette and Marie, and her beloved husband Nick.
Anne is survived by her sons, Milt of Royal Oak, Michigan, Bob of Yellow Springs, Ohio, and Mike of Galena, Ohio; her grandchildren, Gary, Dave, Chris, Sue, and Jason; and her great granddaughter Hayley.
Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral home where a Rosary will begin at 8 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be Monday at 11 AM at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Ted Thomas and Father Robert Schneider will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
