Anna Margret Weller (nee: Geyer) died on Friday December 5, 2014, at her home in Mt. Gilead.  She was 94 years old.

Anna Margret was born in Edison, Ohio on March 15, 1920, to the late Henry Clyde and Imo Lurah Geyer.  She was one of nine children raised by the Geyers and was preceded in death by her brothers: Melvin (Charlotte), John (Alice), and James (Sally).  Anna is survived by five sisters: Martha Kubbs, Rosemary Brown, Roberta Higgins, Bonny (Don) Gallagher all of Mt. Gilead and Barbara (Robert) Sutherland of Marengo.

Anna graduated from Mt. Gilead High School in 1938.  After graduation she attended The Ohio State University.  She then went on to serve as a secretary for Governor John W. Bricker.

On May 24, 1942, Anna Margret and Gale B. Weller were married in Arcadia, Florida.  Anna and Gale celebrated 52 years of marriage until his death in 1995.  Together Anna and Gale raised and are survived by 4 children: Jack M. (Lesa) Weller , Lawrence, KS, Melissa K. (Larry) Furniss, Pembroke Pines, FL., Craig V. (Leslie) Weller, Medford, NJ and Susan G. (Don) Crank, Monroe, OH.

Anna was a member of the Mt. Gilead Trinity United Methodist Church.  She was active in Jr. League and local Twig Chapter.  Anna often offered her time and support to the organizations that her children participated such as the Girl and Boy Scouts.  She also served as the Treasurer of the Mt. Gilead Athletic Boosters.

Anna was employed at the Morrow County Sentinel where she provided accounting and support services for the weekly paper.   She eventually went to work for Morrow County as a clerk in the Office of the Probate Court.   She served in this position until her retirement in the mid-80’s.

After retirement, Anna dedicated her time to her interests that included playing bridge, travel, volunteering her time and baking skills to various organizations and causes and rooting on her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.   More importantly, it afforded her the time get involved and take an active interest in the lives of her seven surviving grandchildren: Ted E. (Myra) Furniss, Kennett Square, PA, Matthew (Celeste) Hanson-Weller, Bayfield, CO, Jennifer  B.(Rick) Furniss, Philadelphia, PA, Kristen V. Weller, Newburyport, MA, Robert G. (Melissa) Weller, Boston, MA, Michael  R. (Cindi) Shane and Patrick C. (Jessica) Shane both of Middletown, OH.  Also, Anna left two great granddaughters: Susan A Shane and Aria E. Shane of Middletown, OH.

A celebration of Anna’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015, at her graveside in Rivercliff Cemetery, with her nephew, Rev. Steven Brown officiating.

Per the wishes of Anna, the family requests that in lieu of flowers and cards a donation be made in her name to either the American Heart Association or the Mt. Gilead Trinity United Methodist Church, and they may be sent to the care of the funeral home.
