Angelo Baker, age 82, of Edison, died on Wednesday afternoon, April 12, 2006, at the Morrow County Hospital.
He was born in Crossville, Illinois, on November 12, 1923, the son of the late Claude and Nellie (Suell) Baker. Angelo was a graduate of Crossville High School.
Angelo has been a resident of Morrow County since 1963, moving here from Crossville, Illinois, because of the opportunities with oil during the 60’s. He was a self-employed welder with a portable welding truck, which he used in the oil fields.
Angelo was a 32 degree mason and past master of the F. & A.M. Lodge # 206, and enjoyed playing the fiddle.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, Eddie Lee (Daniel) Baker of Mount Gilead; his son Steve Baker of Edison; and 4 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Angelo was preceded in death by his sons Angelo Baker Jr. in 1963, and Stanley Baker in 1999; his daughter Janet Gregory in 1993; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Craven & Snyder Funeral Home, 67 North Main Street, Mount Gilead, where Masonic services will be held immediately following calling hours at 7:00 p.m.
