Andrew “Junior” Marteney, age 74 of Mt. Gilead formerly Marengo died at his home Monday evening, December 27, 2004.

He was born in Elkins, WV on Sept. 2, 1930 to the late Andrew J. and Mae (Lamb) Marteney. Originally from the Lancaster area, he lived in Marengo for 13 years and recently moved to Mt. Gilead. Junior was retired from the maintenance dept. of Mid-West Fabricating, Amanda.

A former member of the King Cobra CB Club, he could fix anything, liked tractors and classic cars, especially 1959 Cadillac convertibles, he enjoyed football and was a fan of Michigan.

Survived by his wife: Ruth (Spangler), Children: Jimmy (Sue) Marteney of Lancaster, Ruth (Don) Wymer of Marengo, Ronnie (Lori) Marteney of New Albany, Kitty (Bob) Woodrum of West Hamlin, WV, Junior (Susan) Marteney of Delta, Cheyenne (Lisa) Marteney of Cardington, Patty Targett of Hebron, 26 Grandchildren, 16 Great-grandchildren, Brothers: Emory of Lake City, FL, Henry of Columbus, Verle (Mary Ann) of McArthur, Clint, Buck, Charles (Faye) all of Newark, Sisters: Betty Edmond of Columbus, Idell Lamb of Lancaster, Sylvia (Joe) Brown of Croton, Ruth (Bob) Williams of Outville.

Preceded in death by Sisters: Edith James and Mary Marteney.

Friends may call Thursday 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will be held Friday 2:00 p.m., Brother Charles Wymer and Pastor Rob Musick officiating, interment Marengo Cemetery.
