Andrew J. “Andy” Gregory, age 89 of Lewis Center, died Tuesday afternoon, April 5, 2005 at Wintersong Village Care Center.

He was born on Jan. 20, 1916 in Columbus to the late James and Sarah E. (Sovill) Gregory. He moved to Delaware in 1947, worked for Francis Butts Heating and Air Conditioning and retired from the maintenance dept. of Xerox Corp. in Columbus.

Andy enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, woodworking, gardening, especially raising vegetables. Known as easy going, he could make a friend in an instant. He loved people, especially his family and grandchildren.

Survived by his loving wife and best friend of 69 years: Ann (Thomas) Gregory, Son: James (D. Arlene) Gregory of Delaware, Daughter: Carol (John) Doubikin of Cardington, 6 Grandchildren: Susan, John, Gregory, Jim, Julie, Janis, 17 Great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by Great-granddaughter: Chloe Wright and 11 Brothers and Sisters.

Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36), Delaware, where services will be held Saturday 10:00 a.m., Rev. Joseph Sopher officiating, burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Delaware.
