Amy Elizabeth Brewster Anderson, age 94, of Mount Vernon passed away Friday, August 22, 2008, at Summerville at HillenVale.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Richard G. Anderson, brother, Charles Brewster and son-in-law James Stuller. She is survived by seven daughters: Martha Stuller of Danville, Peggy (Bob) Burelli of Mount Vernon, Helen (Salvador) Millan of Cuernavaca, Mexico, Julie (Don) Drumheller of West Milton, Carole (Mike) Conway of Mount Vernon, Kathy (Bob) Belcher of Louisville, KY, and Janet (Steve) Thompson of Mount Vernon. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, David (Kim) Stuller, Brian (Cheryl) Stuller, Elizabeth (Sean) Monahan, Melinda (Chris) Burelli, Matthew (Nikki) Dimmick, Patricia Millan, Amy (Jose) Urban, Richard Millan, Lisa (Ryan) Halburnt, Michelle (Adam) Dennis, Steve (Stacie) Conway, Kevin (Denise) Conway, Sarah (David) Halter, Scott Belcher, Jennifer (John) Hubbard, Lori (Ty) Carpenter, Andrew (Angie) Thompson and Keli Thompson, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; a sister-in-law, Rebecca Anderson Burnham.

Amy was born July 28, 1914 in Columbus, Ohio. She grew up in Bremen, Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University in 1936 with a degree in elementary education. She taught for 3 years in Worthington, Ohio. After raising her family, Amy taught first grade for 11 years at Elmwood Elementary School in Mount Vernon, retiring in 1975. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was recently recognized for 80 years of membership in Ohio Grange. Amy was a 4-H advisor for over 20 years and active in the Station Break Senior Citizens Center.

Her positive attitude and sweet smile will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Friends may call Monday, Aug 25 from 1 PM to 3 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 26 at 1 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 102 North Gay Street, Mount Vernon with the Rev. Jonathan Fettig officiating. Burial will be at Mound View Cemetery.
