Alvin L. Simpson

Alvin L. Simpson, age 63, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 17, 2020 at his residence.  He was born on February 16, 1957 in Wooster, Ohio the son of John and Romonia (Sowards) Simpson.  Alvin proudly served in the United States Navy during Vietnam and received his Bachelors degree from Colorado Technical Institute.

Alvin enjoyed the outdoors as he liked fishing and playing basketball at the park.  He had a heart of gold and always wanted to help others.

He is survived by his daughter Veronica Simpson of Centerburg; a brother, John (Cathy) Simpson of Millersburg, a sister, Lois (Gary) Kent of Danville and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a half-brother Roger Frazee.

The family will observe a private Celebration of Life service at a later date.  The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Alvin L. Simpson.
