Alona Lynn Starlin

September 29, 1978 ‒ September 03, 2018

Mount Gilead, Ohio

Alona Lynn Starlin, age 39, of Mount Gilead, passed away Monday evening, September 3, 2018, at mom’s home surrounded by her loving family.

Alona was born on September 29, 1978, in Mount Gilead, to the late Robert K. Starlin and Terri L. (Frost) Bayird whom survives. She graduated from Mount Gilead High School in the class of 1996. While in high school, Alona attended Tri-Rivers Vocational School where she studied early childhood education.

Having a gift of helping others, Alona was an outstanding cashier at various convenient stores. Over the years she worked at Town Pump and Deli, the 95 Shell, and the 95 Duke and Duchess Truck Stop. She always aimed to brighten the day by putting a smile on her customer’s faces.

Alona was a woman of faith. To say she loved monkeys would be an understatement as she was infatuated with them. She also loved everything to do with her family. Time spent with her family was cherished to the very end. No matter what was going on in her life she always put the needs of others first. She never held a grudge and encouraged those around her to do the same. Her sense of humor could brighten the worst of days for others and her love will surely be missed.

Alona will be missed by her mother, Terri Bayird and Step Father Jimmy Rickman Jr. of Mount Gilead; daughter, Tiffani Hummel; granddaughter, Elena; step-son, Austin Belden; brothers: Chuck and Sara Starlin of Mansfield, Bob and Tabitha Starlin II of Shelby; grandfather, Charles Frost; her “baby” dog, Brutus; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert.

Her family will greet friends at 2 pm on Saturday, Oct. 6th 2018, at the Amvets Post 87 located at 7825 OH-61 Galion OH 44833. Her ashes will be laid to rest with a private family service at a later date.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
