Alma M. Dodds

Alma M. Dodds, age 74 of Ostrander died Friday afternoon, August 10, 2001 at Laurels of Norworth, Worthington.
She was born on Sept. 9, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Harold L. Snelling and Florence M. (Welch) Snelling. She obtained a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Ohio University. Originally from the Athens area, she had lived in Missouri for 17 years and in the Delaware area for several years. Alma had worked as a social worker for the Athens County Welfare Department for 14 years, with the State of Ohio Corrections Dept. and was a counselor and foster parent for several children for the State of Missouri. She enjoyed painting.
Alma was preceded in death by Husband: Murray Dodds in 1991, Daughter: Joy M. Irwin in 1998, and 4 Brothers: Bob, Joe, Lou and Buster Snelling.
She is survived by Son: Richard (Kathleen) Howard, of Ostrander, 4 Grandchildren: Eric (Lisa) Irwin, Alicia Irwin, Kimberly Howard Begley, Christopher Dodds, 4 Great-grandchildren, and Sister: Florence of Kentucky.
Friends may call one hour before the Memorial services to be held Tuesday 8:00 PM, at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware. Burial will follow at a later date in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery near St. Louis, MS.
