Allen Franklin Schubert, 83 of Galion, died July 28, 2009. Born in Cincinnati. A graduate from Hughes high in 1942, enlisted in U.S. Air Force in WWII, married Goldie Long in 1947, graduated from University of Cincinnati with BSME and the American Inst. Of Technology with BSEE. Worked 10 yrs. For GE in Cincinnati and 17 yrs. for North Electric in Galion where he was Project Magr. Regional Sales Magr. and Director of Marketing of Power Systems Division.

Since his retirement he lived quietly and happily tending to his beautiful home and gardens, enjoying the love of his faithful companions: English Bird dog, Patty Ann, Cockapoo, Tonto and Shitzu, Leroy. Hobbies included carpentry, electronics, gardening, dining on great food, traveling the world and engaging lively conversation. He was a Free Mason and enjoyed golfing and was very proud of his, double eagle, hole-in-one.

Survived by his wife Goldie, daughters, Lisa Berk and Valerie VanBuren; sons Allen “Buddy” Schubert and Eric Schubert; grandson, Allen Schubert.

At Allen’s request he was cremated and a private service for the family will be held on Hilton Head Island. HomeCare Matters Hospice nurse, Lisa Swain and caregiver, Maria McCalla were such a blessing and memorial contributions can be made to HomeCare Matters Hospice, P.O. Box 327, Galion, OH 44833. His memory will be cherished.
