Alfred L. McClain, age 77, of Yauger Road, Mount Vernon, died Wednesday July 24, 2002 at Country Club Care Center in Mount Vernon. He was born on January 30, 1925 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Wade and Flossie (Hearn) McClain. Mr. McClain served in United States Navy during World War II.
He is survived by a daughter Joyce (James) Acton of Gambier; a son Christopher (Kaye) McClain of Richmond, Virginia; three grandchildren Marc (Sherry) Rosenfeld of Columbus, Joshua McClain of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Michael McClain of Columbus; two great grandchildren Mitchell and Megan Rosenfeld of Columbus, two brothers Charles (Wilma) McClain of Little Rock, Arkansas, John (Vickie) McClain of Battle Creek, Michigan and a sister Mary (Milo) Bjergum of Kasson, Minnesota; a daughter-in-law Karen McClain of Columbus and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sons Michael and Robert McClain.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 PM at Glen Rest Cemetery in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is in charge of arrangements.
