fULLER aLEX0001Alex R. Fuller, age 90 of Marengo, passed away Saturday afternoon April 4, 2015 at Woodside Village in Mount Gilead surrounded by hs family.

He was born on August 24, 1924 in Marengo to the late Lester P. and Grace I. (Sterritt) Fuller. He was a lifelong Marengo area resident and a graduate of Marengo High School Class of 1942. He was a farmer and a longtime member of the Marengo United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Marengo and Highland School Boards, 1952-1968.

Alex was an innovative farmer trying minimum till and no till farming in the 1960’s which resulted in his picture on the cover of The Ohio Farmer Magazine. Alex was also an authored a book about his memories of Marengo entitled “Marengo My Hometown”. Along with his father and brother they owned the Ford dealership in Marengo. LP Fuller and Sons from 1939 – 1960, selling cars and tractors. Alex enjoyed spending winter in Florida, fishing and maintaining his yard.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years: Geneva (Roberts) Fuller and they were married February 13, 1944 in Olive Green; son: Donald Fuller of Marengo; daughter: Connie (Jim) Griffith of Marengo grandchildren: Jim (Tina) Griffith, Jonathan Griffith, Justina (Mike) Keckler; great grandchildren: Bud Hamilton, Cassandra Griffith, Rachel & Emily Keckler.

Preceded in death by brother: Sterritt Fuller.

Private Graveside Services will be held for the family and calling hours will not be observed. Arrangements entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Homes.

Family suggests memorial contributions to Harbor Light Hospice, 2267 Village Mall Drive, Ontario, Ohio 44906.

We had so many good times together back then. I enjoyed a good visit with your dad when he was in St. Ann’s with broken ribs. I’m sure he will be missed by so many in the Marengo community.     Our family has always been rather small but I knew we were cousins for many years. Alex was a faithful and kind man to all who knew him.
    He and Mr. Baker would bring a air conditioner to my mother and install it in her bedroom window while the weather was so hot. That was so much appreciated and needed. We are family And my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time and always.
