Albert E. Darst

Albert E. Darst, 93, of Delaware passed away early Friday morning, September 2, 2016 at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born January 29, 1923 in Delaware to the late Elmer and Stella (Mullins) Darst. Albert proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army in the 119th Anti Aircraft Artillery Group.
A lifelong Delaware resident, Albert worked at Glenwood Range for many years and he enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and word finds.
Left to cherish his memory are sons, Richard E. (Raechel) Darst of Delaware, Delbert E. (Debbie) Darst of North Carolina and Steven E. (Dorothy “Dory”) Darst of Cardington; eight grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret (Dewey “Mack”) Burns of Warrensburg and Linda Darst of Delaware; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his wife Lalah, daughter-in-law Gertrude and three brothers Raymond, Elmer and Paul Darst.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 6 – 8 pm at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William Street), Delaware and where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with military honors provided by the Delaware County Veterans Association.
