Agnes Marie “Aggie” Welch

Agnes Marie “Aggie” Welch, age 86, of Marion, passed from this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the Marion General Hospital, due to complications from cancer.
She was born December 1, 1929 in Marion, OH, to the late Everett Paul and Agnes Elizabeth (Husted) Welch. She is also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. She is survived by one sister, Kathleen Sparling and one brother, Phillip (Marsha) Welch, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Aggie was an avid member of the Mount Vernon Ave. Church of Christ, where she was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed. She worked for many years as a secretary at Marion Paper and Supply.
She graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1948 where she played trumpet with the marching band. She rarely missed going out to breakfast with her former classmates. She loved to watch sports on TV and going fishing with her friends from church. Her favorite team was OSU.
She will be sadly missed by her sister, brother, and many nieces and nephews.
The Welch family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion. Services to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the Mount Vernon Ave. Church of Christ, 947 Mount Vernon, Ave., Marion, with Minister Jeff Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
