Adeline N. Hill, age 88, of Mount Vernon passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at her home. She was born November 22, 1927 in Mount Vernon to the late Charles and Nettie (Potter) Armstrong.

Adeline was a 1945 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. After high school, she went on to study Cosmetology and earned her Beautician’s license.  Adeline owned and operated the Vogue Beauty Shop in Mount Vernon for many years.  She was a member of the Mount Vernon Pythian Sisters and secretary for her local Ostomy Association.  Adeline was an avid Euchre Club player and also enjoyed reading, crocheting, and playing dominoes with her children and grandchildren.

Adeline is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harry Hearschel Hill; son John (Cheryl) Hill of Columbus; daughter, Joanne (Brian) Marshall of Westerville; sister, Beverly Lahmon of Mount Vernon; sister-in-law, Jayne Armstrong of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Jennifer Hill, Geoffrey (Brooklyn) Hill, Joelle, Hailey and Hillary Marshall; nephews, Thomas (Bonnie) Lahmon, Charles (Lisa) Lahmon, Bruce (Marianne) Armstrong, Brian (Debbie) Armstrong and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Adeline is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Armstrong; brother-in-law, Stanley Lahmon; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Kenneth Prindle; mother and father-in-law, John and Leona Hill; and a nephew, Timothy Lahmon.

Adeline’s family would like to thank all of the very special people that have been a crucial part of her care over these last few years, Stacey Berger, Debbie Spencer, Michelle Graham, Ashley Zollars, Patty Dawson, Felicia Miller, Jennifer Hill, Kelsey Davis and Holly Smith.  We truly appreciate your hard work and the love and kindness you have shown toward our sweet Adeline.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016.  Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
