Francis “Frank” Hatfield

Francis “Frank” Hatfield, age 74, of Sunbury died Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Kobacker House in Columbus.

He was born on February 3, 1943 in Pikeville, Kentucky the son of the late Craig and Daisey (Osborne) Hatfield.

Frank married Sandra Hahn in Delaware and they have been together as husband and wife for 41 years.

He worked as an over the road truck driver, most recently for Piper’s Trucking in Johnstown until his retirement in 2004.

Frank was a member of Genoa Baptist Church.

He loved Ohio State Buckeye sports and spending time at the casino.  He was also a NASCAR fan, cheering on Jeff Gordon, Dale Junior, and Dale Senior before his fatal accident.

Frank’s family will remember him as a man with a big heart and a giving spirit.  While he wasn’t afraid to tell you what he thought he loved all people.  He enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s sporting events and cheering them on.

In addition to his wife he will be missed by his daughters and their husbands Bobbie Martin and her husband Ben of Centerburg, Angela Schall and her husband Jason of Lexington, Kentucky, and Kimberly McNeill and her husband Heath of Newark; his son Shaun Conley and his wife Jen of Tiffin; eight grandchildren Brody, Colton, Ella, Avery, Maddox, Leena, Hannah, and Trenton; brothers Willard of Chillicothe and Billy Ray (Anna) of Anderson, South Carolina; his sister Juanita Siewert of Toledo, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, Black Lab, Max.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Robert and Kenneth “Porky”.

Friends may call on the family on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 North State Route 61, Sunbury, Ohio.  Funeral services will be held there on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow at Sunbury Memorial Park.
