We know that every family we serve is unique and strive to make each service a personal tribute to the life that has been lived. We provide a wide variety of choices that will help fulfill your wishes, from a traditional funeral to a personalized service that celebrates your loved one’s hobbies and interests. The following are ideas that you may use to personalize a service:
Gather photos of your loved one and we will create a lasting tribute on DVD that can be viewed during visitation or a service. Additional copies of the video tribute can be purchased for family and friends. Here is an example of Snyder family funeral director Dan Snyder’s tribute video:
Every funeral presents an opportunity to share a life story. The casket too can be personalized using commemorative embroidered panels, embroidered overthrows, or LifeSymbols® designs. Some caskets even have a “french bulletin board” lid to allow for photos, maps, or letters (pictured).
Snyder Funeral Homes can provide your family with a bouquet of environmentally safe balloons in the color(s) of your choice. As the balloons slowly drift gently upward it leaves us with a memory that lasts a lifetime. Our staff will coordinate the balloon release to take place at any time throughout the service. If you are interested in using this special memory maker, please let us know.
Personalized Printed Materials
Whether you wish to have photos included on memorial folders or a family prayer or quotation included on prayer cards the options and choices are yours to make. Many choices of register books, memorial folders, prayer cards and thank you notes are available to customize as you desire.
Memorabilia Display Tables
Any special photographs, personal memorabilia, and other items will be beautifully displayed to reflect the true personality of your loved one. In the past, items such as golf clubs, baseball mitts, ballet shoes, artwork, and motorcycle helmets have been displayed.
Let the enchanting sound of the Highland bagpipes be a presence at your funeral service. You may request that the bagpiper escort the casket from the funeral coach to the gravesite or that he will play in the distance before and after services. Arrangements may also be made for the bagpiper to play at chapel, church or memorial services.
Personalized jewelry and other items on which your loved one’s fingerprint is engraved are available to all families we serve through our partnership with Legacy Touch. Choices range from necklaces and bracelets to keychains and bookmarks. View our page dedicated to Fingerprint Keepsake to learn more.
Hearses & Limousines
Our fleet of Cadilac hearses and limousines are kept in pristine condition and are all white in color. The hearses can accommodate a casket or an urn for safe travel to the cemetery while the family is close behind in a limousine that comfortably seats up to seven.
Free Online Obituary Hosting
An online obituary is a great way to celebrate your loved one’s life. Family and friends can leave guestbook condolences, view photos, watch the tribute video, privately contact the family and more. The obituary is online so it will always be accessible and it will contain all service information for easy organization and viewing.
Would you like to honor a loved one in your family who was a Veteran? Your funeral director will take care of every detail for you. Depending on the branch of service, available options may include a color guard, Taps, a gun salute or even pallbearers. We have contacts with all branches of the service to honor your loved one in the most appropriate way. In addition, we can apply for an American Flag and a Bronze Marker through the Veterans Administration as well as a Presidential Certificate honoring the life of your Veteran on behalf of a grateful nation.
When planning a funeral, one of the many decisions you will make is where your loved one’s final resting place will be. Depending on whether you choose a cemetery, your home, your garden or some other location, you will need to choose an appropriate protective container. Your funeral director will match your specific needs to all available options, which may include caskets, vaults or urns.
Caskets are made in a wide variety of styles and materials. They can be made from inexpensive materials, such as pine or a composite of hardboard, and cost very little. Or they can be expensive when made from the finest materials such as bronze or mahogany. Stainless steel and steel caskets are also popular options.
Most cemeteries require that caskets be placed in an outer burial receptacle capable of withstanding the weight and pressures of the earth above and surrounding the receptacle. Our Merchandise Selection Room provides samples of vaults and other outer burial containers for you to preview and make your selection of choice.
Container Options for Cremation include: Hardwood Caskets, for those desiring something more traditional; Cremation Caskets for those wanting a simple yet dignified casket constructed specifically for cremation; and Basic Cremation Containers.
Memorial Urns are permanent containers for the cremated body. We offer a wide range of styles and prices appropriate for burial, niches, scattering, keepsakes or discreet placement in your home. Your personal plans for the final placement of the urn can play an important part in your selection process. Some urns are ornately designed for display purposes while others are very basic in style. Many of the urns can also be personalized with engravings or laser designs.
Urn Vaults are protective containers in which urns are commonly placed. In many cases, where families desire to bury the urn-encapsulated remains of their loved one, cemeteries will require the use of an urn vault. Much like burial vaults for caskets, urn vaults protect the urn from being crushed and protect the ground above them from caving in over time.
Your funeral director can help coordinate with a local florist to provide beautiful and affordable flowers to display on the casket or beside your loved one’s urn. Our website also provides a wide variety of selections for friends and family to purchase that can be displayed at the service or visitation.

A variety of Memorial Registry Books, Service Folders and Acknowledgment Cards are available that can reflect the life and interests of your loved one. Designs include those that reflect hobbies and lifestyles with additional licensed designs by Thomas Kincade.
