Dignified Cremation Services
Cremation is a simple and dignified option that can be an affordable alternative to the typical funeral service. Many families do not realize that they can hold a meaningful service with a cremation. Our caring staff will help you arrange any type of service or celebration you desire to be held before and/or after the cremation.
We at Snyder Funeral Homes own and operate four onsite crematories, offering your family the ultimate peace of mind. When you choose us for cremation services, you’ll take comfort knowing that your loved one will never leave the shelter of our professional care. Visit Our Crematories to learn more.
Endless Options, Unlimited Possibilities
When you choose cremation, you gain access to countless alternatives to burial. You may bury your loved one’s cremains on a family plot in the cemetery, scatter the ashes in a special location on land or at sea, keep them in a beautiful urn at home, place them in a columbarium niche, separate them into keepsake urns between family members, insert the cremains into a necklace or even have them blown into a unique piece of glass artwork! There is an infinite number of ways to memorialize your loved one. Your Snyder Funeral Director will guide you through the options and help you create a fitting tribute.
Our professional staff will tailor cremation services to suit your family’s needs and the wishes of your loved one. For a more traditional cremation service, you can arrange for calling hours and a funeral service with your love one present. This type of tribute looks and feels like a traditional burial service with everything except an immediate procession to the cemetery. If both traditional calling hours AND a procession to the cemetery are important to your family, you may consider our prompt cremation service. After the visitation has concluded, our staff will perform your loved one’s cremation overnight so their cremated remains may be taken in procession to the cemetery the next day.
Some families prefer to schedule a memorial service. You may hold memorial services before or after the cremation, and these services may or may not include a display with the cremated remains. Other families prefer a simple and affordable cremation and opt for a private family-only viewing or service to keep costs at a minimum.
We offer the following cremation packages, each of which can be personalized to suit your family:
The simplest of final disposition options, a direct cremation includes only the cremation with no additional ceremonies, services or rites. Before the direct cremation, we must obtain a signed death certificate from the attending physician along with a signed authorization from the authorized agent of the deceased. In the State of Ohio, there is also a 24-hour waiting period after the time of death before cremation can be performed.
Cremation with Memorial Service
This choice includes a direct cremation followed by a memorial service or visitation with a memorial service. This option gives your family the opportunity to say goodbye and remember, honor and celebrate your loved one’s life.
Cremation Funeral Service
This option includes a cremation followed by a day of visitation with funeral services at the funeral home, church or other location. Our cremation funeral package includes the following services:
- Services of our funeral director, administrative and professional staff for coordinating, personalizing and directing the funeral service
- Preparation and filing of legal documents and other paperwork necessary to complete the arrangements
- Removal from the place of death to the funeral home (within 30 miles)
- Cremation at our crematory
- Use of our facilities for up to four hours of visitation
- Use of our facilities for the service or set up at a church or other location
- Automotive equipment including funeral coach and service van
- Graveside service
