Walter Ellis Ulery Jr

Walter Ellis Ulery Jr, age 73, of Delaware,passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at Grady Memorial Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born October 8, 1939, in Sunbury, to the late Walter E and Bertha I. (Smith) Ulery Sr.
Walter graduated from Big Walnut High School and later served his country in the U. S. Army. A lifelong truck driver, he drove for Matlack Trucking and PPG Trucking and was a member of Teamsters Local 413. He was also a member of the Delaware Moose Lodge 1167, Eagles Aerie 376 Delaware; VFW and AmVets 104. Walter had the “gift of gab” and never met a stranger.
Walter is survived by his loving wife, Pam of Delaware; sons, David
Ulery; Anthony (Jennifer) Ulery, all of Croton; daughters, Charity Raimonde of Centerburg; Charma (Jeff) Patterson of McArthur; step son, Steven (Leeann) Morris of Delaware; step daughter, Stacey (David) Mayse of Ashley; brothers, John W. (Janis) Ulery of Charlotte, NC; Vernon (Judy) Ulery of Ostrander; Steve (Melinda) Ulery of Delaware; brother-in-law, Tom Hipple of Hilliard; several grandchildren; 1 great grandchild as well as numerous nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Hipple; son-in-law, Paul Raimonde; brother-in-law, Phillip Adams; and nephew, Max Hipple.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5-8 PM at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR’s 3 and 61, Sunbury, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday with Pastor Corey Bane officiating. Interment will follow in Sunbury Memorial Park.
