Robert “Don” McGuire

Robert “Don” McGuire, age 75, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to be with his Lord on October 2, 2012 following a long and courageous battle with illness.

He was born in Richmond, Indiana to the late Archie and Daisy (Gray) McGuire. Don proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956-1962. He retired as the Engineering Manager in 2002 after 38 years at J.B. Foote, later Dana Corporation.

He is survived by his loving, devoted wife, Karen whom he married in 1963; his son Dean (Joellen) McGuire; his daughters, Cheryl (Mike) Cheatham, Teresa (Nick) Caruso; his grandchildren Delaney and Madalaine McGuire, Alexandra Sillato, Cassidy and McKenna Cheatham, Kristen Cox and Jacee Chubb; a great-granddaughter Amaiyah Cox; his brother Kenneth; and his sister-in-law Kathleen (Earl) Waddell.

Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Russell and Evelyn (Cook) Richards and sister-in-law Keitha Longfellow.

Friends may call on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown from 5-7PM. The family will observe a private graveside service at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council.

The family would like to thank everyone at the Knox County Kidney Center with an extra special thanks to Kelly; Dr. Ravindra Pawar, a very special physician and friend. Also Hospice of Knox County for their special help.
