Marshall Edward “Eddie” Pittman
September 25, 1950 ‒ April 16, 2009
Marshall Edward “Eddie” PITTMAN, age 58 of Mt. Vernon died unexpectedly Thursday, April 16, 2009 at his home on stagger hill.
He was born on September 25, 1950 in Gainesville, Florida to the late Marshall C. and Rosalie (Green) Pittman. A graduate of Big Walnut High School in 1969, he moved to Mt. Vernon from Sunbury in 1991. After 30 years with the Delaware County Berkshire outpost of ODOT, he retired in 2000. After retirement he worked in the stock yard of Producers in Mt. Vernon and remained a “hobby” farmer.
An auction fanatic, he collected old farm machinery, some of which even worked and numerous other stuff. He also raised cows and pigs, which were also considered items he collected. A member of the NRA and Sunbury Eagles Post #3614, he was happiest outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time on stagger hill.
He built his life around his family and with his laid back personality, was the kind of guy everyone knew and liked. A man who would give you the shirt off his back, he was a hard worker, who always spoke a kind word and had a smile on his face.
