Margaret M. Diefenbach

Margaret M. Diefenbach, 66, Mount Gilead and formerly Columbus, died Friday, June 12, 2009.
Born April 15, 1943, in Columbus, daughter of the late John and Mary (Ford) Canty. Graduated from Sacred Hearts High School in 1962.
Soon after graduating, Margaret married her loving husband, Carl L. Diefenbach on June 22, 1963. They shared over 35 wonderful years of marriage together and a love of camping in their mobile home at Hidden Lakes in Mt. Gilead. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1998.
A loving homemaker, Margaret proudly raised her three children despite her lifelong battle with cerebral palsy. Always supportive, she was there for every function and especially enjoyed her children’s musical talents.
She will be dearly missed by her three children: Carl (Michelle) Diefenbach, of Westerville, Mary Jane (Mike) Kane of Galena, and Debbie (Chris) Eichler of Galion; seven grandchildren: RaeAnn Kane, Megan and Joey DeLauder, Christin and James Eichler, and Ashleigh and Kaylei Diefenbach; two great-grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters: Catherine Adkins, John (Betty) Canty, both of Columbus, Mary Ellen Adolf, Pat Canty, Eileen (George) Dine, all three of Orlando, FL, Rita (Greg) Purnell of Columbus, Michael (Liz) Canty of Powell, and Alice (Steve) Williams of Orlando, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday, June 15, at Snyder Funeral Home, 76 S. Main St., Mt. Gilead, with prayer services at 7 p.m. A Celebration Mass will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart, with Father John Bakle serving as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery.
