Lauralie Lou Lucas, age 60, of Crestmonte Dr. Howard, Ohio, died at her home following an extended illness September 18, 2003. She was born April 7, 1943, in Mount Vernon the daughter of Ralph E. and Betty (Simmons) Stringfellow. She graduated from the Mount Vernon High School with the Class of 1961 and had attended the Colonial City Baptist Church. She was retired from the AMG Corp in Mt Vernon and for 15 years had been an employee of the General Motors Corp in Mansfield where she was the first female journeyman tool and die maker there. She was a member of the United Auto Workers Union.
She is survived by her husband of 10 years Fon Lucas, daughters Ronda J. (Ernie) Weaver of Mansfield and Candy (Tom) Bishop of Bellville, sons Randall W. Baith of Knoxville, Tennessee, Lee F. Brown of Columbus and Shawn A. Lucas of Howard, 6 grandchildren, 2 sisters Linda (Ron) Tarr of Mt. Vernon and Kathryn (Jim) Chadil of Bellville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Dameon R. Baith-Jung and a sister Letha M. Butler.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM, at the Colonial City Baptist Church. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
