Kenneth Link, age 93 of Sunbury, passed away Sunday morning April 1, 2007.
He was born in Kingston Township, Delaware County on May 29, 1913 to the late Frank and Elsie (Barton) Link. He was a retired farmer, truck driver and mechanic and had worked for E. A. Schlairet and Fuller Marathon. He also had his own trucking company and hauled brick for the former Galena Brickyard. Kenneth was a 60 year member of Sparrow Lodge No. 400 F&AM, member of Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Delaware County Pioneer Society and Williams Lodge K of P in Kilbourne.
He was dedicated, honest and hardworking. A true family man at heart, he enjoyed spending time with his children at the county fair, showing cattle, rabbits and horses. He was an avid fan of the Little Brown Jug, his favorite spot was along the fence at the west end of the track. A founder of the Sunbury Halter and Saddle 4-H Club in 1952, he formerly owned Link’s Garage and was a partner in the Perfect-Link Ford Auto Sales.
Survived by Daughters: Suzanne Allen of Mt. Gilead, Sherry Buel of Westerville and Linda (Dan) Wehrle of Sunbury; Son: Stephen Link of Bainbridge, IN; 11 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. Brothers: James (Betty) Link of Kilbourne, William Link of Delaware; Sisters: Ann Daugherty of Richwood and Charlotte Pittman of Kilbourne; Sister-in-law: Jane Riddle of Columbus.
Proceded in death by his Wife: Maxine C. (Perfect) Link on April 20, 1992; Brothers: Vinal and Raymond; Sisters: Pearl Baker, Lucille Welch and Zella Terry.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 p.m, Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. by Sparrow Lodge No. 400., at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury where services will be held Thursday 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunbury Memorial Park.
