Earl Wright, age 61 of Ashley, died Saturday afternoon June 23, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 27, 1950 in Thornton, KY to the late Leslie and Susie (Blair) Wright. He had lived most of his life in the Delaware and Ashley area. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Shelly Company.
Earl was a good and honest person who would tell you like it was whether you wanted to hear it or not, he would always tell you the truth. Earl loved riding his 1999 Harley Davidson Softail and restoring classic muscle cars including his 1970 Nova. He enjoyed time spent going to swap meets with his brother and working in his garage. Earl and Tami enjoyed riding the Harley, trips to Tennessee and bike week in Daytona FL. Earl loved spending time with his family and friends and most especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years: Tami (Ruggles) Wright and they were married July 24, 1976 in Delaware; sons: Brandan Earl Wright of Ashley, Elmer Lee Wright of Delaware; daughter: Tania Davenport of Ashley; grandchildren: Heather, Holly, Heidi, Justin, Gabe, Hailey, Blake; brother: Eddie (Vivian) Wright of Delaware; sisters: Kathleen (Duane) Leighter of Raymond, Helen (Donnie) Brown of Marion, Joann (Bill) Nichols of Columbus; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by sister: Jackie Clay.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-7:30 p.m. at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive, Delaware with a service at 7:30 p.m. with Woody Bagwell officiating.
